"Toni Storm’s AEW Collision return sparks new momentum as her rivalry with Shafir intensifies"
Toni Storm stepped back onto AEW television this weekend, ending a short break that had fans wondering when she’d return.
The former AEW Women’s World Champion, who made her name both in WWE and later as one of All Elite Wrestling’s top personalities, appeared on Saturday Night Collision for her first televised match since Grand Slam Australia 2026. Her comeback instantly reignited interest in her ongoing storyline and the growing tension within AEW’s women’s division.
Storm’s feud with Marina Shafir has been simmering for months, a rivalry that eventually dragged in The Death Riders and kept escalating.
The hostility reached a wild peak at Grand Slam Australia during a Mixed Tornado Tag Team match, where the person pinned would have their head shaved. Wheeler Yuta ended up taking the fall and losing his hair, turning their clash into something even more personal and giving Storm space from TV while the fallout unfolded.
Storm’s Collision return brings a new spark
On Collision, Storm faced Zayda Steel, a newly signed up-and-comer already gaining attention. Steel held her own for stretches of the match, but Storm’s timing and presence carried the pace.
Once she found her rhythm, she shifted momentum and closed the match with her Storm Zero piledriver, earning a clean and convincing victory.
The calm didn’t last long. Marina Shafir hit the ring and tried to jump Storm right after the match, but Storm stayed sharp and fought her off. The scene got even louder when Wheeler Yuta slipped in for a sneak attack.
Storm reacted instantly, flipped the script on him, and pulled off his beanie, revealing his shaved head to the crowd. The arena erupted as Yuta scrambled away, clearly rattled and embarrassed.
Even though this was Storm’s first TV bout since Grand Slam, she hadn’t been completely absent from competition.
She worked a mixed tag match at AEW House Rules Australia in Boondall, Queensland the night after the pay-per-view, teaming with Orange Cassidy to defeat Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir. It was a quieter return, but a sign she was gearing up for something bigger.
