"Roman Reigns WWE schedule gets clearer after Backlash as new plans for Raw and Clash emerge"
Roman Reigns left WWE Backlash 2026 with his championship still around his waist, but the bigger talking point after the event quickly became his upcoming WWE schedule.
Following days of confusion surrounding several advertised appearances, fresh reports now suggest WWE has finalized plans for the Tribal Chief’s next run on television after Backlash.
The main event in Tampa saw Reigns survive a brutal challenge from Jacob Fatu in one of the most physical matches of the night. Although Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship, the ending sparked major discussion after Fatu snapped following the loss and attacked officials at ringside.
WWE appears ready to continue that rivalry, with several reports hinting that the fallout from Backlash will play a major role on upcoming episodes of Raw.
WWE reportedly locks in Reigns’ next appearances
According to recent backstage updates, Reigns is now expected to remain part of WWE programming through the end of May, despite earlier confusion over his advertised June dates.
WWE reportedly corrected internal promotional material and confirmed that the company wants Reigns featured heavily heading into Clash in Italy later this month.
The latest reports also state that Reigns is not currently scheduled for Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia and could temporarily step away from television after Clash in Italy before returning during the build toward SummerSlam.
That update has fueled speculation that WWE is carefully managing his appearances while still keeping him positioned as the company’s central attraction.
At the same time, WWE creative now has several possible directions for the champion.
A rematch with Fatu appears increasingly likely after the chaotic ending at Backlash, while names such as CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and rising powerhouse Oba Femi are all being discussed as future challengers in ongoing WWE storylines.
For now, one thing is clear: WWE still sees Roman Reigns as the centerpiece of its biggest events, and the company is making sure his next appearance feels important after the chaos of Backlash 2026.
